Collection: All about our Suncare range

A suncare range without compromise

True to our convictions: to offer healthy, natural and eco-friendly cosmetics, we had two main requirements to create our suncare products :

→ Effective and safe ingredients for the skin
→ Minimal impact on the environment

In recent years we had almost given up on creating a range of sun care products because we could not find, despite our research, THE ideal formula: without compromise between skin protection and protection of the planet.

Sunscreen formulation, a real issue for the oceans

It was simply unthinkable to create sun products that could have a harmful effect on our environment!
We wanted to create a range that would not only be effective, but also truly respectful of the oceans. After further research, multiple trials and a few failures, we finally found THE solution

- A base for ultra-natural formula

The ingredients have been scrupulously selected for their effectiveness.
No controversial ingredients and a 100% natural, non-photosensitizing fragrance.
We have chosen organic apricot kernel oil as the main active ingredient in the range. It nourishes the skin and allows a perfect and luminous tan.

- New generation organic filters, truly ocean friendly

Our sun filters are a strong choice for us. Until now, there were two different types of filters: Mineral (natural) filters and Classic organic (chemical) filters. Neither of them satisfied us, and for good reason!

As a result, we have banned these two types of filters and have embarked on research to find an innovative solution that respects the skin and the entire marine ecosystem.
La Rosée has therefore placed 3 ultra-important factors at the heart of its research into sun filters:

💦 High water resistance
To limit the dispersion of the products in the ocean. A film-forming agent has been added to increase the residual on the skin and improve the water resistance as much as possible.

🌍 High biodegradability
In order to ensure that the tiny fraction that disperses into the ocean does not remain in suspension but dissolves, we have selected filters that are highly biodegradable, non-persistent and do not bioaccumulate in the environment.

☀️ A broad UVA/UVB spectrum
To ensure maximum skin protection.

Result

Our research has led to the creation of a unique complex of four new-generation, non-toxic filters that respect the marine ecosystem.
They are clean, non-nano, non-irritating, non-allergenic, non-endocrine disrupting AND provide high broad spectrum UVA/UVB sun protection.

Strict and extensive testing to verify non-toxicity to marine biodiversity

We have achieved outstanding results in tests for impact on coral viability and inhibition of seaweed growth!
Even in very large quantities, our products have no deleterious effect on algae growth and no coral bleaching! 🐠

A suncare range that protects you effectively

Ultraviolet rays

The sun is not without danger. Exposure to the sun poses risks to your skin: sunburn, premature ageing, allergies and, in the most serious cases, cancer. The sun emits ultraviolet light (UV). There are two main types:

☀️ UVA: this accounts for 90% of UV. They penetrate the deep layers of the skin and are responsible for accelerated ageing of the skin and can be carcinogenic if overexposed.

☀️ UVB : they represent 10% of the rays. They remain on the surface of the epidermis and are responsible for tanning but also for sunburn in case of too much exposure.

What is SPF?

Tanning is above all a defence reaction of the skin against the aggressiveness of the sun's rays. The skin will darken by producing melanin to better protect itself from the harmful effects of UV rays.
However, this natural mechanism is not enough to protect the skin effectively. It is imperative to use sun protection.

SPF  Sun Protection Factor.
This index measures the degree of sun protection. The higher it is, the greater the protection.

SPF 30 high sun protection, about 97% of UV rays are blocked
SPF 50+ Very high sun protection, about 98% of UV rays are blocked

The sun protection factor should be chosen according to two factors: the phototype (the fairer and more sensitive the skin is to the sun, the higher the protection factor should be), and the sunlight conditions (the more intense the sunlight, the higher the protection factor should be).

What about children?
We only recommend SPF 50 products to protect children's fragile skin.

Apply your sun cream effectively
30 minutes before exposure to the sun, apply generously to the exposed areas.
Reapply every 2 hours and after each swim.

Caution: excessive sun exposure is dangerous for your health, avoid the sun in the middle of the day.
